Dr. Goedecke and son Willem
Congratulations to Doctor Goedecke, who won first place in her age group, and to her son Willem, who came in 2nd place in his age group at the 20th Annual Komen Lowcountry Race for the Cure. Dr. Goedecke raced in honor of her mother, Ellie Agresta, who is a breast cancer survivor.
The 5k timed run / fun walk was held on Daniel Island on October 19. Thousands of people, including Dr. Goedecke and her family, participated and raised money to support the Komen Lowcountry Foundation. 75% of every dollar raised will stay in the Lowcountry service area to provide breast health education, screening and diagnostics and survivor support services. 25% will support Komen’s National Research and Awards programs.
