COVID 19 Vaccine

November 4, 2021
Pfizer Covid Vaccinations

On October 28, 2021 the FDA gave emergency use authorization for pediatric Pfizer BioNTech COVID19 Vaccine for children between 5 and 11 years old.

On November 2, 2021 the CDC accepted the ACIP recommendation to use the vaccine in this age group as well.

We are pleased to announce Parkwood Pediatric Group will now be offering our patients 5 to 11 years old the COVID19 vaccine. The vaccine for this age group has one third the dose given to adolescents and adults and children will receive the vaccine with a smaller needle. It is also a 2 dose regimen separated by 3 weeks. The vaccine is safe, effective and all our doctors recommend our patients who are eligible to be vaccinated.

We will start booking appointments immediately. If you already have a routine check up you can do it at that time. We will have appointments available during the day on weekdays and you will receive an email tomorrow announcing weekend drive thru COVID19 dates with a link that can be booked online only.

If you already have an appointment for the drive thru Flu clinic visit on November 6, 13 or 20, you will have the option to also get a COVID vaccine that day for your 5 to 11 year old child.

Stay tuned and stay healthy!
